Academic Editors
WordsRU’s academic editors are multi-disciplined, highly skilled, professional and experienced. The bona fides of our worldwide team have been independently verified and their editing activities are underpinned by confidentiality and document security agreements. Individual non-disclosure agreements requested by individual, corporate and governmental customers are undertaken as and when required.
The team has undergone rigorous editing proficiency testing and each editor is personally committed to our corporate ethical, quality editing outcomes.
The editing team is managed by a chief editor/administrator who oversees the timely, quality completion of editing projects in addition to maintaining an overview of daily activity between editor and customer.
Brief biographical sketches of some of our editing personnel are shown below. Each of the editors featured is proficient in the leading academic citation styles including APA, MLA, AMA, Turabian, Chicago and Harvard.
Chief Editor and Administrator — Josephine
With a degree in English literature and extensive postgraduate studies at Oxford University and elsewhere, Josephine has had significant professional management experience over the past 25 years in the fields of science, law and publishing, including editing all types of academic documents and writing and editing postgraduate articles, reports and other science-related publications.
US Chief Editor and Administrator — Albert
After studying politics and law in the US, he went on to earn degrees in philosophy, religious studies and theology in Europe, culminating in a PhD. from Louvain. While his own published works have been mainly academic, he has experience in business and is currently engaged in writing his first novel.
Editor — Tara
Tara has a BA(Hons) in English literature. In working towards this degree, she also studied film, television, English literature from 1500, grammar and language, drama, gender, politics, psychology, Ancient Greek, Italian and Latin.
Editor — Tim
Tim's studies at Oxford University established his exceptional command of written English, and he went on to achieve a first-class degree in geography. He later worked in history publishing and the commissioning of a list of titles in archaeology.
Editor — Matt
With a PhD in historical theology from the London School of Theology, and an MA in modern history from Oxford University, Matt has taught many different age groups and nationalities in Belarus, Austria and England. His studies have required him to read extensively in Latin, French and German.
Editor — Hannah
Hannah holds a master's degree in English literature and modern history from the University of Oxford. She is also a qualified TEFL teacher and lived for five years in Barcelona, where she taught business English.
Editor — Clare
Clare is an Honorary Research Associate at St Martin’s College, Lancaster University, UK. After her BSc (Hons) in combined science (with philosophy minor), she became a researcher with the Natural Environment Research Council in the UK, and received her MSc in health science in 2001.
Editor — Richard
Richard has degrees in political science from the George Washington University in Washington DC and the University of Waikato in New Zealand. He has been a Hollywood publicist, a journalism teacher, and a lecturer in politics, management and international business.
Editor — Mark
With degrees in economics and education and an MBA, Mark has 15 years experience editing academic papers and writing and editing a range of business documents.
Editor — Angus
Angus holds a BSc (Hons) in organic chemistry and has a wealth of experience editing a wide range of academic papers from scientific and medical research manuscripts, to doctoral theses, speeches and academic presentations (mostly for the ESL market), and has facilitated the publication of more than 1,600 research papers from medicine to pure science to architecture and the social sciences.
Editor — Steve
Steve is a freelance writer and editor. He holds an MBA in marketing and management and a BA in English with philosophy minor from a top-tier university. His writing and editing experience includes magazine and newspaper articles, dissertations, websites, marketing materials, user guides, resumes and CVs, cover letters, business plans, brochures and blogs.
Editor — Diego
David is an ABD in romance languages and literatures at an American university, and holds an MA in iterature and a BEd in English and Spanish. As a PhD student in the US, he is particularly adept at applying styles such as MLA, APA and Chicago.
Editor — Mark
Mark holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Communications and a Diploma of Business Computing. He is a professional writer and editor and has worked as a manuscript assessor and editor for an international publishing company.
Editor — John
John has an undergraduate diploma and an MA in Chinese from New Zealand's University of Waikato. His original undergraduate degree was in history. Since then he has worked for one of Taiwan's leading translation companies, editing everything from TV subtitles, academic essays and company SOPs to instruction manuals and business letters.
Editor — Ernesto
Ernesto holds degrees in English literature and is the author of two novels, The Lazarus Rumba and The Second Death of Única Aveyano. In addition he has translated two novels from the original Spanish. He is Professor of Fiction and Latin American Literature at Sarah Lawrence College and Brooklyn College.
Editor — Roger
Roger holds a masters degree in science and a diploma in technical communication and has worked with top international publishers such as Elsevier, Springer and Blackwell. He also edits user manuals, white papers and other IT documents and has more than five years experience in ESL editing.
Editor — Michael
Michael holds an MA in English and has taught tertiary English and communication courses in the USA and many foreign countries, including Thailand where he now lives. Michael has worked as an instructional systems designer and programmer developing e-learning applications and simulations for online delivery.
Editor — Kathleen
Kathleen holds an MSc (Hons) in geography from Wollongong University in Australia, and a BSc in geography from Victoria University in New Zealand. Originally from Texas, Kathleen spent 20 years living overseas and has over 13 years of experience as a senior editor, including several years as editor-in-chief of GEOAsia Pacific, a GIS and remote sensing magazine published in Singapore.
Editor — Sarah
Sarah holds a BA in English with emphases in literature and creative writing, as well as an AS in Japanese language and culture. She has 10 years of experience in editing play scripts, short and long fiction, poetry, critical and opinion essays, research papers and verbal presentations. Sarah’s poems, essays and short stories have been published in a variety of online and local sources.
Editor — Ashley
Ashley holds a master’s degree in English language and literature and an MPhil in the fiction of Henry James, both from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. In addition to her love of all things literary, she has a strong interest in history, politics, art and philosophy.
Editor — Kerrin
Kerrin has been writing professionally in the fields of science and technology since 1989, and holds a BA in computer science, cum laude and an MS in software engineering. She has authored and edited manuscripts in a host of fields including her own, family medicine, bioinformatics and agriculture.
Editor — Koskie
Koskie graduated with merit from Purdue University, Indiana, USA, with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in creative writing with minors in anthropology and Spanish. He then graduated with distinction from the University of Sydney, Australia, and holds a Master of Media Practice degree. He has been an English teacher for more than five years, and has edited a variety of documents.
Editor — Ruth
Ruth’s fascination with the English language led her into publishing, and she has been involved in it for the past 12 years in a number of roles including the management of an international magazine for which she also contributed a regular column. Ruth has also worked for a medical publisher as an editor and has edited academic theses and manuscripts in all genres, including non-fiction, short stories, children’s books and numerous types of novels, as well as Web sites.
Editor — Jeanmarie
Jeanmarie holds a PhD and MS in Conflict Resolution, as well as a BA in Jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University and the University of Baltimore, respectively. Since 1998, she has taught, edited and provided coaching for both undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of subject areas.
Editor — Adam
Adam has a BA (Honours, 1st Class) in Communications. Time spent freelance editing means that he comes to us with skills in a wide range of areas, including author manuscripts, ESL and corporate writing. Through previous work as a website designer, online content manager and publisher rights researcher he has developed a strong awareness of new media requirements, while also having widely studied philosophy, social theory, arts, sciences and narrative communication in a traditional academic context.
